The Department of Hemodynamics has services that provide diagnostic and therapeutic evaluation to patients with pathologies of the cardiovascular, cerebral and circulatory systems.

Doctors Hospital has two Hemodynamics rooms. The equipment used is of the latest generation and angiographs can be carried out with intravascular navigation in any region of the body with a “stent boost” tool, which clearly visualizes the characteristics of the implanted stent.

In neurological studies, vascular images can be complemented with the integration of tomographic images of the brain. Finally, with major complications, the room can be converted into an operating room within seconds.

Our main objective is to provide support of medical diagnoses by performing, interpreting and evaluating hemodynamic studies, providing patients with opportune and quality service.

Studies and Services
Procedures carried out in the department:
 Diagnostic Procedures:        Therapeutic procedures
  •  Coronary angiography
  •   Right cardiac catheterization
  •   Left cardiac catheterization
  •   Electrophysiology
  •   Cerebral angiography
  •   Carotid angiography
  •   Neuroprotection
  •   Abdominal angiography
  •   Aortogram

  •   Balloon angioplasty
  •   Temporary pacemaker
  •   Definitive pacemaker
  •   Tricameral pacemaker
  •   Valvuloplasty
  •   Intra-arterial chemotherapy
  •   Cardiac biopsy
  •   Counterpulsation balloon
  •   Placement of endoprosthesis
  •   Electrophysiology
  •   Ablation
  •   Cardiac mapping to detect arrhythmia with the use of EnSite
Left Auricle
Atrial    fibrillation   is    the   most    frequent
arrhythmia    and   it   is   the   main   clause
of cerebral embolisms. Three-dimensional
mapping allows  us  to locate  the  sites  of
this arrhythmia and corroborate successful
treatment. In this example, an ablation  line
is    observed     between    the    lower   left
pulmonary vein and the mitral valve and the
red    site    represents    the    zone    where
electrical stimulation begins.
The blue line shows  that  a line successfully impeded the electrical passage in the
zone that maintained or perpetuated atrial fibrillation.
Right Auricle

The  yellow   circle   represents  the  place
where  normal   electricity   is   transmitted
from the auricle to the  ventricle. The white
site  surrounded   by  red   represents  the
origin of an Abnormal Tachycardia.
The three-dimensional  map allows us  to
locate  the  exact   site  of  the  tachycardia,
limiting treatment of the diseased site and
minimizing  the  risk  of  a lesion of healthy
